A fine antique French commode, raised on four turned legs and featuring an inset, beveled marble top. The body is beautifully decorated with egg and dart moulding, rosettes, faux caning, flowers and applied plaster crests to either end. The front features a double cabinet, covered by two doors, each of which is decorated by a lovely, hand painted oval medallion depicting lovers in a pastoral setting. A very old and exquisite conversation piece for any home.
